Obtaining a tourist licence - Turkey

Modified on Fri, 17 May at 3:06 PM

According to the law and regulations applicable in Turkey as of January 1, 2024, all hosts who want to rent out their vacation rental must obtain a permit certificate and display the permit number in all property listings.

How can I apply?

You can apply for a permit number via the e-government portal. If you have questions about whether your property needs a permit or about the additional requirements that may apply to your short-term rental, please check with your local authorities by visiting their website or by contacting them by email: konutbelgelendirme@ktb.gov.tr.

What are the deadlines?

For hosts intending to list new properties on booking sites like Airbnb and Booking.com, it’s mandatory to include their permit number by 02 June 2024. This deadline aims to ensure all listings comply with the new regulation. Listings that fail to showcase a valid permit number risk being removed, and hosts may face fines.

Already have a touristic rental residence permit?

Great! If you already have a touristic rental residence permit number, there's no need to apply again. Simply add that number and additional information on your Travelnest account under 'local licence and touristic tax'.
