How to add, re-order and delete photos

In this article, we explain how to add, re-order and delete photos of your listing in your Travelnest account. When you are adding photos to your account, to maximise property performance, we recommend:

- At least 10 high-resolution photos (this is a requirement from the booking sites)
- Uploading photos in landscape rather than portrait format
- Including external photos of your property

- Adding photos of all rooms in your property

Doing this will significantly improve your content score on booking sites. Listings with good content scores perform better, attracting more interest and converting more bookings. For more photo tips, see our photo guide. 

We recommend professional photos to showcase your property at it's best. Airbnb estimate that you can increase bookings and earnings by up to 20% by doing professional photos. You can find one in your area by using google and searching for "Home professional photographer in my area". If you're unable to get a professional photographer then we recommend taking photos using plenty of natural light and showcasing the most unique aspects of your property.

To update your listing photos follow these steps

1) Login to your account, from your home page select ''Properties'' and choose the property you wish to add photos for.

2) In the property's profile, scroll down to the 'Edit photos, description, and set availability' section. There, you'll find the 'Photos'. Click on 'Edit'. 

Good to know: If a property requires photos to be added, the photo section will be shown in red and you'll see a Review button. If photos have already been added, the section will be shown in green and you'll see an Edit button.

3) In the 'Photos' section, you'll have the option to click on 'Upload Photos' to add photos or If you already list your property on Airbnb, we can import your photos directly! All you need to do is paste the link to your property below and click ‘Import photos’

Use the link guests see when viewing your property on Airbnb - it will look like this: https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/123456

We recommend uploading at least 30+ high-resolution photos to help your listing appear more in searches. 

Once you have uploaded your listing photos, you can re-order them as much as you like. 

You'll see the photo gallery for the property. To re-order photos, select the grey cursor on the left-hand side of the photo and drag it into a new position.

Travelnest tip: The first photo in the gallery is the most important, as it's used as the hero photo on your listings on booking sites, and is what potential guests see in their search results. It needs to be a landscape, attractive, enticing photo, preferably showing the exterior of the property, to encourage potential guests to click on the listing and see more. 

Good to Know: Uploading a portrait hero/cover photo may prevent your listings from going live on booking sites. To avoid this, ensure you upload an enticing landscape photo of your property, as shown in the example below:

For the remaining photos, it is important to ensure that you include internal, external, lounge, kitchen, bedroom(s), bathroom(s), view, surrounding area and key amenities. Try to include 4 photos per room type, one of which is of the bathroom. Re-order the photos in a logical order, and group photos of each room together in the order you want guests to see them. 

Include at least one exterior photo to show the outside of the property and include room views and entrance photos to further boost your content score. If you have a garden, patio, or any outside space, be sure to show this off, and include garden furniture or BBQ equipment too.

It's a good idea to regularly review your photos - we recommend doing this at least annually. You should also add fresh images to showcase the property during different seasons and also include photos if you re-decorate, update furnishings or add any new amenities etc. 

To delete photos, simply click on the 'trash' icon next to the photo you wish to delete.
