Boost bookings with promotions and longer-stay discounts

Promotions and discounts are a great way to attract more guests and increase bookings for your property. With Travelnest, you can choose from a range of promotions and longer-stay discounts to make your listing more appealing and improve visibility across major booking channels.


A badge will appear next to your property when a promotion is applied, and listings with active promotions are often ranked higher in search results.


You can apply promotions specifically to Airbnb and Booking.com, as well as offer discounts for stays of 7 or 28 nights. Promotions are applied per property, not per account, and can be combined with other offers or longer-stay discounts. Please note that discounts do not apply to cleaning fees.


Current Travelnest promotions

Here is an overview of the main promotions available on Booking.com and Airbnb:


Booking.com Genius Partner Programme 

Joining the Genius Programme boosts your property’s visibility on Booking.com. Properties enrolled receive exclusive tagging, ranking advantages, and marketing support, often resulting in around 20% more bookings each week.


Eligibility criteria:

  • The property must have rates for at least 6 months.

  • The property must have available dates on the calendar for at least six months.

  • You should have received at least three guest reviews.

  • Your property should have a review score of at least 7.5.


Booking.com Mobile Rates

Over half of all Booking.com bookings are made via mobile, so offering a 10% discount to mobile bookers can help increase bookings. Properties that enable Mobile Rates typically see about 19% more bookings each week.


Early Bird (Booking.com and Airbnb)

Encourage guests to plan ahead by offering a 10% discount for bookings made three months in advance. This helps improve occupancy rates and attract early reservations.


Booking.com Preferred Partner Commission Deal

The Preferred Partner Programme increases your property’s visibility and page views by up to 65%. Enabling this promotion increases the channel commission by 3%.


Eligibility criteria:

  • Property score of at least 70%
  • Review score of at least 7
  • Property must be ‘competitive’ (using Smart Pricing is recommended)

Last Minute (Booking.com and Airbnb) 

Fill availability by offering a 10% discount to guests booking within 7 days of arrival. This promotion is ideal for last-minute travellers.


Airbnb New Listing

New hosts can offer a 20% discount to the first three guests who book their property. This promotion helps new listings gain bookings and reviews quickly. Discounts expire after the third booking or 30 days after opt-in, whichever comes first.


How to activate and deactivate promotions

To offer promotions to guests, please follow these steps:

  • Log in to your Travelnest account, navigate to your Properties page, and select the Property.



  • Then, under the Pricing and availability section, click Promotions.



  • In this section, you can explore all available promotions for Booking.com and Airbnb. To activate one, simply tick the box beside it and click Save changes. To remove a promotion, untick the box at any time.




Applying discounts for longer stays


You can offer discounts for stays of 7 or 28 nights across all booking channels:

  • Select the property and navigate to Pricing and availability, then click Pricing and discounts.




  • If you have added your pricing manually, select the month you want to apply the discount to, then click Edit. For example, here we’ve selected April.



  • On this page, scroll down to the section showing discounts for 7- and 28-night stays. Here, you can adjust the discount amounts as needed, and any changes will be saved automatically.



If Smart Pricing is enabled, discounts for longer stays can still be applied across all channels through the same menu.


FAQ

How long does it take for promotions to activate or deactivate?

Usually, channels take approximately 48 hours to activate or deactivate a promotion. 


How are promotions and discounts reflected in my payments?

Promotions are applied to your overall nightly pricing rate before the commission.


For example:

  • Total booking value: £100
  • Guest sees and pays: £90 (after a 10% discount)
  • Commission (Travelnest 5% + booking channel 15%): £18
  • You receive: £72 (before VAT, if applicable)


On your payment invoices, discounts appear as Discount Type, Discount Value, and the adjusted rate before other deductions such as commission and VAT.


What is the difference between promotions and discounts?

Promotions are channel-specific and visible to guests searching for particular offers, such as last-minute or early bird deals. These apply only to Booking.com and Airbnb.


Discounts, on the other hand, apply to all booking channels and are ideal for longer stays — for example, weekly or monthly discounts during quieter seasons.


Can I enable more than one promotion?

Yes — in fact, we recommend it. Activating multiple promotions on Booking.com and Airbnb helps your property appear in more filtered searches and attract a wider range of guests. Just keep in mind that some promotions require your property to meet specific eligibility criteria.
