Understanding Travelnest's cleaning fee policy

Travelnest charges a standard commission on any cleaning fees, as this cost is passed on to us by our partner channels. This means that while you can set a cleaning fee for your property, Travelnest will retain a commission on that fee, similar to how we handle commissions on nightly rates.

How to update your cleaning fee

To add, update, or remove a cleaning fee for your property:

1. Log in to your Travelnest account.

From your homepage, click Properties on the left-hand side menu options, then select the property for which you wish to adjust the cleaning fee.

2. Navigate to the Pricing and Availability section.

Scroll down on the right-hand side and click on the Security Deposit and Cleaning Fee option.

3. Adjust your cleaning fee.

In this section, tick the Use a Cleaning Fee box to enter the amount you wish to charge for the entire stay. Once entered, click Save Changes to update your settings.

Travelnest tip

While setting a cleaning fee is at your discretion, it's important to consider its impact on guest bookings. A high cleaning fee can deter potential guests, as they may perceive the total cost as higher. To attract more bookings, consider lowering or removing your cleaning fee or incorporating it into your nightly rate. This approach can make your listing more competitive and appealing to guests.
