If you're listing your property on other booking sites with Travelnest, but listing it directly with Airbnb, it's important to connect your Airbnb calendar with Travelnest. This will avoid double-bookings and ensure that your availability is up-to-date on all other booking sites through Travelnest.
- To synchronise your Airbnb calendar properly, it's important to follow both the import and export steps outlined below.
- Please note that you'll need to do this from a laptop computer, as it is not available on mobile devices at present.
How to synchronise your Airbnb calendar with Travelnest
Good to know: If you've just created an account with us and wish to synchronise calendars before publishing your property, you can find your calendar in the 'Pricing and availability' section. Look for the 'Availability' subsection, as shown in the screen below:
Once you've found your calendar, refer to question number 3 to learn how to sync your Travelnest calendar with external calendars.
1. Log in to your Travelnest account and, from your Home page, click 'Calendar'. If you have multiple properties, you’ll see a drop-down box above the calendar where you can choose the calendar for each specific property.
2. After choosing the property for which you would like to synchronise the calendar, look under the calendar and click the drop-down menu labelled 'Additional calendar features.'
3. Click 'Export Calendar'.
4. Click 'Copy link' then 'Continue' and 'Finish'.
5. Next, log in to your Airbnb account and click 'Switch to hosting'.
6. Then, click 'Listings'.
7. Choose the property you'd like to sync calendars with as shown in the example below. (We don't recommend skipping this step as it is important for you to choose the correct listing to sync calendars, especially if you have more than one property on your Airbnb account).
8. Then, click 'Pricing and Availability', then click 'Go to calendar'
9. This section will display your calendar. Then, on the right-hand side, click on 'Availability', scroll down and you'll find the option to 'Connect calendars'.
10. Once you find the option 'Connect calendars', click on 'Connect calendar to another website'.
11. Now, you must export your Travelnest calendar to Airbnb by pasting the Travelnest calendar link into the Airbnb calendar during Step 2.
12. Once you've pasted the Travelnest calendar, it's now time to export the Airbnb calendar during Step 1. Click 'Copy' to copy the Airbnb URL link.
13. Next, go back to your Travelnest calendar and click 'Import Calendar'.
14. Under import calendar, paste the Airbnb link, name your calendar 'Airbnb', and click 'Continue' then 'Finish'.
Allow a few hours for the Travelnest calendar to fully sync up with your Airbnb calendar. You should see a green tick mark once this has been completed.
Frequently asked questions
1. How can I check if my bookings from Airbnb have been connected to the Travelnest calendar?
You'll see all your Airbnb bookings with a blue line on the Travelnest calendar, as shown in the example below.
2. If I'm NOT listing my property with Travelnest on Airbnb and have synced calendars with Airbnb should I deselect Airbnb from 'Marketing channels'?
Yes if you have decided to keep your listing direct with Airbnb and have synced the calendars with Travelnest properly to avoid double bookings. Go to your 'Marketing' or 'Channels' section and deselect Airbnb and click 'Save changes' to avoid duplicate listing.
3. I don't know how to synchronise calendars. Can your customer support do it for me?
Unfortunately, if you're listing your property outside of Travelnest on platforms such as Airbnb or Booking.com directly, we don't have access to your personal login details to do the synchronisation for you. You must log in to your Airbnb or Booking.com account and follow the steps in this guide to complete the synchronisation process.
If you would like some assistance setting up calendar sync for your property, you can contact our Customer Support team. For information on how to contact us, please see here.
4. What happens if I need to cancel a booking?
As outlined in our Terms and Conditions, we reserve the right to charge you a £50 admin fee, per cancelled booking, where a double booking has arisen as a result of a failure to use iCal or block externally booked or unavailable dates manually. To avoid this fee, connect your calendars with iCal and block any unavailable dates manually.
If you need assistance to cancel a booking, please read our guide here to find more information.
