If your property is located in France, Spain, Greece, Portugal, Scotland local licence information must be added to your Travelnest account. This is a legal requirement so that the property can be advertised on major booking sites like Airbnb, Booking.com and Expedia. Owners risk being fined if their property is found to be receiving guests without the correct registration in place.

Please note that other countries or regions of countries may also require a tourist licence.

Note that: Some of the steps outlined here can take time to complete, so it makes sense to get started as early as possible.*

In this article, we summarise the latest available information on how to register a property for short-term rental in France, Spain, Greece and Portugal. Where to find local licence information in your Travelnest account

1. Log in to your Travelnest account and, from your Home page, choose the property you would like to add the local licence number.

2. Then, find the 'Property Details' section. There, you'll find the local license option; click 'Edit' to add the local license number.

3. As soon as you click 'Edit,' this section will appear. However, depending on the country where your property is located, this section may look different due to varying requirements among countries. For instance, in the example below, our property is based in Lisbon, Portugal. That's why in this case, we need to add the local licence number and tax number (IF). When you add the local licence requirements, please make sure to click 'saved' so that booking sites can update this information on your listings.
